You could log in to your Student Medicover account to renew your insurance.However, our plans are typically non-refundable after policy becomes effective except for cases outlined in our refund policy, feel free to contact our customer support, we’d love to help you out.
2.Can I enroll in dental and vision coverage from Student Medicover?
Yes, if you are over 18 years old, we offer a wide range of selections for dental and vision insurance and discount plans to meet your needs. Also, our plans cover all pediatric dental and vision care except the Basic plan, as well as $200 vision coverage for Supreme, Elite, Prime 100, and Prime 500 plan.
3.Does Student Medicover health insurance cover vaccines?
2024-2025 Policy Year Supreme, Elite, Prime 100, and Prime 500 cover the preventive care services rendered in in-network facilities. Most of the college-required vaccinations are on our preventive care services list. For the full vaccination list covered by our plans, please click here.
4.Are pre-existing conditions covered under Student Medicover health insurance?
2024-2025 Policy Year Supreme, Elite, Prime 100, and Prime 500 have no pre-existing conditions waiting period or exclusion.
5.How do I file a claim for medical expenses under Student Medicover health insurance?
If you visited an In-Network provider, please show your official insurance card during your visit; in-network providers will submit your claims to UHCSR directly, so you don’t need to submit the claim by yourself. If you visited an Out-of-network provider or your school’s student health center cannot bill your claims to the insurance company. You may login to your UHCSR account, click on “Submit Claim” and submit a claim in your portal. The system will require you to submit your official insurance card, monthly statement from your bank and an Itemized bill including provider address, provider tax ID, diagnosis code and procedure code. Please allow up to 20 business days for the insurance company to process your claims.
6.Are prescription drugs covered under Student Medicover health insurance?
Yes, it is covered if you are enrolled in the Prime 500/Prime100/Elite/Supreme plan.
Note: you need to get prescription drugs from the in-network pharmacies.
For 2024- 2025 policy year, Student Medicover Global care basic, Global care plus, Prime 500, Prime 100, Elite, Supreme plans can cover prescription drugs if you purchase the drug from in-network pharmacy. Please note our plans does not provide benefits for drugs purchased at out of network pharmacy stores.
7.Are OTC drugs covered under Student Medicover insurance?
Most insurance plans, including Student Medicover, typically provide coverage for prescription drugs but do not include coverage for Over-The-Counter (OTC) medications such as Tylenol.
8.What is the difference between deductible and copay?
A deductible is the amount you must pay out of pocket for covered medical expenses before your insurance starts to pay, while a copay is a fixed amount you pay for certain covered medical services or prescription drugs.
